Caring for a Polyethylene Shell

The hull is made of high-density polyethylene (HDPE). Although this material has an extremely long service life, we recommend storing the kayak away from direct UV light, which can cause the plastic to degrade and the color to fade over time. After each trip in sandy terrain, rinse the kayak with water to prevent unnecessary abrasion of the material inside the cockpit and jamming of the backrest mechanisms.
